The Achacha, also called Achachairú, is a tropical fruit native to the Bolivian Amazon and a close relative of mangosteen. The small, oval fruit has a smooth, glossy orange skin and contains a soft, white, segmented pulp. Known for its refreshing balance of sweet and tangy flavors, achacha is prized as a gourmet fruit and is becoming increasingly popular in tropical orchards worldwide.  Achacha is low in sugar and rich in vitamins C and B.

 

Taste: Sweet and tangy, often compared to a blend of lemonade and mangosteen.

Tree size: 10 - 20 ft tall

Pollination: Self-pollinating
Requirements: Full sun to partial shade, rich well-drained soil, and regular watering. Protect from frost and provide humidity for best growth.
