The Boysenberry is a famous hybrid bramble fruit, a cross between blackberry, raspberry, dewberry, and loganberry. Known for its large, deep maroon-purple berries and uniquely rich flavor, Boysenberries are prized by home gardeners and chefs alike. The canes benefit from trellising for easy management and harvest. Fruit is soft and juicy, making it best enjoyed fresh, in pies, jams, and syrups, rather than long storage.

Taste: Sweet-tart, complex, with a rich berry flavor combining notes of blackberry and raspberry.
Fruit size: Large, oblong.
Season: Ripens early summer (June in most regions).
USDA Zones: 5 – 9
Pollination: Self-pollinating.
Requirements: Prefers full sun and fertile, well-drained soil; needs regular watering for plump fruit.
