The J-31 Jackfruit is a premium Malaysian variety prized for its large fruit, excellent texture, and rich flavor. It produces deep-yellow, thick-walled flesh that is firm to crisp, sweet, and richly flavored with a distinctive aromatic quality. J-31 is especially attractive for home growers because its moderately vigorous, spreading tree responds very well to pruning and can be maintained at a compact size while remaining highly productive. It is also known for producing off-season fruit during fall and winter.
