The Red Hog Plum also known as Red Mombin, Purple Mombin, Spanish Plum, or Jocote, is a tropical fruit tree prized for its colorful fruit, rich flavor, and excellent productivity. It produces small oval fruit with smooth red to purple skin and juicy yellow flesh surrounding a fibrous seed. The flavor is sweet-tart and aromatic, often compared to a blend of plum, mango, and citrus. The fruit is enjoyed fresh or used in juices, jams, sauces, and traditional tropical dishes.
