Fuyu Persimmon, also known as ‘Fuyugaki’, is one of the most popular and widely grown persimmon varieties. This Japanese non-astringent persimmon produces squat, tomato-shaped fruit that can be eaten crisp like an apple or allowed to soften slightly.Fuyu is a consistent and reliable producer, making it a favorite for both home gardens and commercial orchards, and it performs especially well in north and north-central Florida.

 

Taste: The flavor is sweet, mild, and pleasant, with subtle notes of cinnamon and vanilla.
Tree size: Up to 15 ft tall (vigorous grower, easily pruned smaller)
