The Kiko’s Crump / South Sea Salad Tree is a tropical perennial vegetable, native to the South Pacific and parts of Asia, prized for its soft, nutritious leaves - it is high in vitamins A and C, iron, and calcium. Also this fast-growing plant valued for its mild, mucilaginous texture and versatility in cooking. The tender young leaves can be eaten raw or lightly cooked in soups, salads, and stir-fries.

 

Taste: Mild and tender, similar to spinach or young okra leaves.
Plant size: 6 – 10 ft tall (can be pruned to stay compact).

Season: Year-round.

Requirements: Full sun to partial shade, moist well-drained soil; regular pruning encourages new growth.
