The Sour Orange, also known as Bitter Orange, is a citrus variety valued for its juice and highly fragrant rind. It produces medium-sized fruit with aromatic, juicy flesh that has a distinctly sour and slightly bitter flavor. While not typically eaten fresh, it is widely used in cooking to flavor both sweet and savory dishes, including marmalade, and its essential oils are extracted for use in fragrances and household products. This hardy and vigorous tree performs well in warm climates.
