The Xie Shan Satsuma is an ultra-early ripening mandarin variety originating from China, prized for its exceptional sweetness and excellent cold hardiness. It produces small to medium, slightly flattened fruit with a loose, easy-to-peel rind and tender, juicy flesh. Known for its rich, sweet flavor with very low acidity, it is considered one of the best-tasting satsumas. Ripening earlier than most varieties, it is ideal for extending the citrus season. This compact, productive tree performs well in warm climates and is well suited for home gardens and containers.
