Spanish Lime Trees
Spanish lime trees, also known as quenepa, mamoncillo, limoncillo, or genip, produce clusters of small, green-skinned fruits with juicy, translucent pulp surrounding a large seed. Despite their name, Spanish limes are not citrus fruits but belong to the same botanical family as lychees and longans. Popular throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, their distinctive sweet-tart flavor makes them a refreshing tropical treat. These evergreen trees thrive in warm climates and can grow successfully in frost-protected areas of Florida.
