The Calamondin, also known as Calamansi, is a compact citrus hybrid native to China and widely cultivated in the Philippines. It produces small, orange-like fruits with a thin peel and juicy flesh that offer a bright, tart flavor balanced by a slightly sweet rind. The fruit is widely used in Southeast Asian cuisine to flavor dishes or to make refreshing beverages like “Filipino lemonade.” This highly ornamental and productive tree is perfect for containers and home gardens.
