Atemoya is a hyrbid between Sugar Apple (Annona squamosa) and Cherimoya (Annona cherimola), and is a category of tropical fruits belonging to the Annonaceae family. Atemoyas were first bred in a laboratory in Florida.
The Priestly is a large-fruited Atemoya variety, known for its good-quality fruit with a slightly grainy texture.
 
Taste: The flesh is sweet and creamy, with a custard-like texture that blends tropical notes of pineapple, vanilla, and banana. Some compare its flavor to a piña colada.
