The Tart Tamarind, also known as Sour Tamarind, is a tropical fruit tree prized for its intensely tangy pulp widely used in cuisines around the world. The brown sticky flesh inside the pods has a bold sweet-sour flavor that adds depth to sauces, curries, soups, candies, drinks, and marinades. This long-lived and highly productive tree is also valued for its broad ornamental canopy and excellent drought tolerance once established.

Requirements: Full sun, well-drained soil, regular watering while establishing, and warm tropical to subtropical conditions.
