The Tavares Limequat is a citrus hybrid between a West Indian lime and an oval kumquat, developed in Florida. This variety produces elongated fruit that ripens to a yellow-orange color and offers a bright, tart lime flavor balanced by a mildly sweet edible peel. Like other limequats, it is productive and ornamental, making it a great choice for patios, containers, and home citrus gardens. Limequats are also more cold-tolerant than true limes but less hardy than kumquats.
