The Yellow Cacao is a tropical evergreen tree native to Central and South America, prized for its bright yellow pods that contain the seeds used to make chocolate. The tree produces fruit directly on the trunk and main branches (cauliflory), giving it a unique ornamental appearance. Inside the pods, 20–50 seeds are surrounded by a sweet-tart white pulp that can be eaten fresh. This variety performs well in warm, humid environments.
