Blueberry Bushes
Blueberry bushes can thrive in Florida, but choosing varieties adapted to the state’s mild winters is especially important. Southern highbush and rabbiteye blueberries have lower chill requirements and can produce abundant crops of sweet, flavorful berries in warm climates. Blueberries are also unusual because they prefer highly acidic soil, and planting compatible varieties together can improve pollination, berry size, and overall harvest. Their attractive spring flowers and colorful foliage make them an interesting addition to the edible landscape.
