Atemoya is a hyrbid between Sugar Apple (Annona squamosa) and Cherimoya (Annona cherimola), and is a category of tropical fruits belonging to the Annonaceae family. Atemoyas were first bred in a laboratory in Florida.
The Geffner Atemoya is the most popular and dependable variety, producing sweet, creamy fruits even without hand-pollination.
 
Taste: Very sweet, creamy, custard-like flesh with pineapple-vanilla notes.

Tree size: 12 – 20 ft tall.
Season: Late summer - Fall.
Cold tolerance: 26 - 28 F
Pollination: Self-pollinating in many cases, but hand-pollination increases yields.
