The King Mandarin, also known as King of Siam, technically a tangor, is a large, late-season citrus hybrid between a mandarin and a sweet orange, originating from Southeast Asia. It produces large fruit with a thick, rough, yellow-orange rind and deep orange, tender flesh. The flavor is rich, aromatic, and sweet-tart with a bold citrus character, making it especially valued for juicing. This moderately vigorous and productive tree performs best in warm climates, where sufficient heat is needed to develop its full flavor.
