The Santa Rosa Plum is one of the most popular Japanese plum varieties, developed by famed horticulturist Luther Burbank in 1906. It produces medium to large fruit with glossy reddish-purple skin and fragrant amber to red flesh. The flavor is rich, sweet, juicy, and balanced by a pleasantly tart skin, making it excellent for fresh eating, baking, and preserves. This productive and adaptable variety performs well in many climates, including warmer regions with sufficient chill hours.
