Peach Trees
Peach trees aren’t just for colder climates—special low-chill varieties make it possible to grow delicious peaches successfully in Florida. Unlike traditional peaches that require long periods of winter cold, Florida-adapted varieties need far fewer chill hours to flower and set fruit. Many also ripen surprisingly early in the year, producing sweet, juicy peaches in spring when peaches from northern growing regions are still months away from harvest.
